Senior Citizens of Surigao

I am enraged when I learned that Rose Pharmacy Surigao told my cousin that Daddy cannot avail of the Senior Citizen's 20% discount on drugs because it was already past 6pm!!!

WHY? Senior citizens become young again after 6PM?

For me this is not acceptable and this should reach the proper authorities for investigation.

I am writing the following:
1. The officials of Rose Pharmacy who are based in Cebu City whom I had the privilege of working with during out USAID-funded project "Pharmacy DOTS Initiative". The officials may not be aware of this "local" Rose Pharmacy policy. But, if this is nationwide, this calls for a bigger investigation.
2. The officials of Surigao City, particularly, Mayor Alfonso Casurra, to determine whether this is allowed by the Local Government through local legislation. However, this should not be the case since Senior Citizens are protected by a national law, the Expanded Seniors Citizens Act of 2003.
3. The officials of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), addressed to Sec. Peter Favila and attention to the Consumer Welfare Desk.

Let me know if you had the same case. Our Surigaonon senior citizens should have the same privilege enjoyed by the rest of the Senior Citizens in the country.
