Kasama Ka Interim Board Meeting #2

I was very impressed that despite the holidays, a great majority of the Kasama Ka Interim Board Members (12 out of 15), attended the 2nd Board Meeting yesterday at the Quezon Circle.

Congratulations Mano Locloc for successfully bringing us together!

Details of the meeting will be posted in the Kasama Ka egroup. These are the highlights:
1. Next Interim Board Members Meeting will be on 7 December 2008 (Sunday) at 2-5PM, at Mana Jeejee's residence (fairview). It will also be the 1st practice for the Kasama Ka Caroling (Fund Raising). All Board Members will form the choir together with selected volunteers. 43 names (families) have been listed to be caroled which include Congressman Romarate, Congressman Matugas, Governor Barbers, and selected Mainitnons.

2. All Mainitnons in Mega Manila will be invited to sign the Kasama Ka membership/application form (download here) and become a member of the organization. The board will present during the 1st General Assembly on 13 December 2008 (2-4PM), proposals for member's benefits and fee. Everyone is encouraged to sign up as members but not all members are required to pay.

3. The Christmas Party (13 December 2008, 4-8PM) preparations have been going on quite well. All Mainitnons are invited (dali, pangimbitar na kamo) to come... see venue sketch below (courtesy of Mano Eddie Mojar). Would appreciate if you could confirm your attendance to the Food and Invitation Committee - Mana Vicky Moster (0908-231-9856, 323-2734) and Mana Vilma Agravante.

The food, venue, sound system (even a Videoke), tables and chairs, plates, and glass ARE ALL ready! You just have to bring yourself and MEET Mainitnons. Well, if you could bring something for potluck (softdrinks or any delicacy - kamote, ginamos, saging, karlang, etc)... it will be highly appreciated!)

All Mainitnons in 14 chapters will be mobilized through their coordinators. I did not get the exact names of the chapters but these are what I have noted: Sapang Palay; Baesa; CaMaNaVa; Muños; PaTaPaR; Marikina; Fairview; Laguna; Cavite; Las Piñas; Tondo; Makati; Bulacan ; Parañaque.

I don't think Cubao is in any of those so i will just join the Marikina Chapter.

Brando Juan together with Mano Pepe Elsisura is in charge of the Christmas Party program. Email him if you know someone who could sing or dance or perform during the party. The beautiful song "Mainit, Kami Muoli Ra" and another surprise composition by Brando will also also be sung.

And whenever the elders come together, very deep Mainitnon words are used. I gathered the following from the recent meetings: Susot, Bilabid, Kayangag, Periko, Tuog, Kayaw, Bansilay, Lanipao, Gitan-og, Catmon, Puyangi, Hagashas - all plants and animals which I hope to photo-document one day!
