The Pidjanga Runner is also IAMNINOY RUNNER

I already got my IAMNINOY Runner Shirt at Bonifacio High Street last week. And Kenny Roger's just announced the Urbanite Run (Aug 15) where IAmNinoy Runners will have a special booth. Ali man-dyagan na kita. (below is the announcement).

It is time for all iamninoy runners to go the extra mile for the 57-75 Movement. iamninoy runners and Kenny Rogers Roasters are teaming up to generate funds for giving momentum to the 57-75 Movement’s school feeding program with the Kenny’s 09 Urbanite Run.

This is the opportunity for all iamninoy runners to come together and run as heroes for our school children. Kenny’s Urbanite Run will be held on August 15, 2009, 7:00 p.m. and will start at The Fort at the Bonifacio Global City. You may register for Kenny’s Urbanite Run in selected Kenny Rogers Roasters branches.

We will have a booth serving as a convergence point for all iamninoy runners before and after the race. The booth will also stand as an information center for iamninoy and the 57-75 Movement.

If you are joining us to run and help the 57-75 Movement, click here. iamninoy runners are required to wear the official shirts for the run. If you have not yet acquired your shirt, you may make your payment to complete your registration as an iamninoy runner and get your shirt at Rudy Project in Bonifacio High Street at Bonifacio Global City.

Presently, other runners, including takbo.ph are joining the night run. Another beneficiary, Hands on Manila, will also be given financial help.

Let’s do our part as iamninoy runners. Keep apace with what our school children need and provide them invaluable help.

Let’s show our strength in numbers, the kind of strength that will help propel the 57-75 Movement forward.

SONA, SOMA

President GMA just finished her 9th and probably last State of the Nation Address (SONA) today. I was at work so I wasn't able to listen to the actual speech. But based on updates and sharing from blogs and online newspapers, among the most intriguing line in her speech is "my term does not end until next year". Uno kahay ija plano? Pero, basi sa ija mga ebidensiya taghatag, may punto isab an ija report na "the state of the nation is a strong economy".

Hala, SOMA na kita. I was informed that the State of Municipality Address (SOMA) by Mayor Ramon Mondanao will not happen this July (unlike last year here), but will be delivered on September 2009, probably during the inauguration othe Lake Mainit Resort Hotel.

Uno kahay State of the Municipality (SOM) nan Mainit sa 2009? Zom o Albutra? Somsoman na may kinilaw kinatumbayan sanan balibayon? Abangan...

The Lake Mainit Resort Hotel

I was informed that the new Lake Mainit Resort Hotel will be inaugurated and blessed on September 2009. The inauguration of this P24 million project will be attended by no less than the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo herself (well, to be confirmed!).

Dayagan sa Kalibutan para sa Panimayay

Amo jaon an tagtawag na "GLOBE RUN FOR HOME" na ako tagdiyaganan nan Domingo, 19 July 2009, sa Fort Bonifacio.

Pero adecer an ako mga hulagway... here's some perks of running during "big time" races. Tan-awa si pandesal... iban ra gud an "FHM's Sexiest Woman of 2009" na si Christine Reyes. Ini tagkuha human an djagan. Badja an ngisi! Hehehe!

An start nan Globe Run. Sa 10k event, kapin na nan libo an nandiyagan.

Hamok isab sponsors, lakip na 100 plus.

Jari na ako dapit sa labot nan Starting Line, hehehe. Pero maradjaw kay an mga bag-o na running shorts nan Nike (DriFit) jaon nay bulsa sa lujo. I can safely put my cellphone camera and some cash for the after-run taho.

Globe also used the Champion Running Chips. Ihayuthot mo ra sa sapatos, nan mu-activate na dajon inig giud nimo sa rubber mat. Jari an results sa www.runpix.com. Try looking at stats of Anthony Pangilinan (5256) who ran 21K.

I am a Timex user since 1997. After reviewing Garmin and Polar watches, I think I will buy the Timex Ironman sports watches below. Running the Globe Run entitles me to a 15% discount (YEHEY). Timex is MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES, so definitely it deserves our support. Besides, even my friends and classmates abroad wear Timex. A british classmate at the London School wears exactly the same Timex Atlantis I have. Unlike the Nike Sportsband, I can use Timex Ironman during my runs at night because of its Indiglo function (visible at dark).

Expensive yet worth having since it is GPS-based. See specs and prizes here.

At the finish line - 1hr 13 minutes. Check Runner 3804 at www.runpix.com. Its a poor performance at more than 7 mins per kilometer. Well, no training man gud. I had 5-6 minutes last year. I should train religiously again.

The shoes is a one the key factor in running. I used a pair of basketball shoes (high cut) during first race. Tsk! Tsk. Tsk! Now I learned. So far, my Nike Zoom (Nike +) has the best cushioning. But since it's lifetime (kuno) is just 300 kilometers, I need to get one that combines comfort and durability. I am eyeing for a new AdiZero pair from Adidas. Running the Globe Run is automatic 20% discount in Adidas stores (YEHEY again). While waiting for a budget on that, I can still use my older Mizuno, And1, Reebok, and World Balance running shoes.

Landslide win for Mayor Mondano

If the mayoralty election was held today, and the only voters on earth are the Pidjanga Blog readers, incumbent Mayor Ramon Mondano will win by a landslide. Even if those who voted for someone else (14%) will vote for Mano Cenon Japay (16%), the combined percentage votes is just 30%, much, much lower to the votes received by Mano Ramon (67%).

But kwidaw and be careful in quoting the results of this survey. See HERE the mock election in February 2007. The then incumbent Mayor Gatpolintan led the mock election at 71% versus Mano Ramon who only got 14%. Although as predicted, Mano Nonoy, who also got 71% of votes, lambasted his rival in the actual elections.

Ten more months... eleksiyon na. Pag-esep-esep na kamo. Again, I would advise my longtime friend, Konsehal Nonong Behagan, not to run again, and instead serve the town through projects, and find time for his family (of 3 kids) and his farms.

Pidjanga notes: I hope more Pidjanga poets, like Atty. Charlo Paredes and Dr. Roland Gatpolintan, will be encouraged to share your original Sinurigao or Minainit compositions to the rest of the world! The above composition clearly expresses my continued advocacy to protect, preserve, and conserve our beloved Lake Mainit. And with it, I realized that, though it is called Lake Mainit, the responsibility lies on all communities surrounding it. In addition, such compositions, contributes to our cultural development by putting in print and on record actual usage of the beautiful words used uniquely or most frequently in our communities. I just missed the words lagaraw, weder, ismagol, wagner, etc that's why it's up there. Besides, it reminds us of the simple treasures of everyday life back home. I don't know how these compositions affect you. Let me know!

Bishop Nereo P. Odchimar was born on October 16, 1940 in Bacuag, surigao del Norte. He completed his Philosophy studies at the Sacred Heart Seminary in Palo, Leyte, and Theology at the San Carlos Seminary in Makati City. He was ordained to the priesthood on December 19, 1964.

He was member of the clergy of the Diocese of Surigao from 1965 to 1977, and served in the parishes of San Agustin, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur; San Nicolas de Tolentino in Mainit and Sts. Peter and Paul in Tubud, Surigao del Norte; and St. Vincent de Paul in Mangagoy, Bislig, Surigao del Sur.

He pursued further studies at the University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary, where he obtained his Bachelors degree in Canon Law, magna cum laude (1982) and Doctorate in Canon Law, magna cum laude (1983). He also completed masteral studies in Business Administration at the De la Salle University in Manila.

In the Archbishop of Manila, he served in the parishes of Sto. Nino in Tondo, Most Holy Redeemer in Masambong, San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City, and San Roque Parish, Alabang, Muntinlupa.

At the time of his appointment, Bishop Odchimar was parish priest of the Most Holy Redeemer parish in Quezon City, and Associate judge of the National Appellate matrimonial Tribunal and Judicial Vicar of the Metropolitan Matrimonial Tribunal of Cagayan de Oro.

The SUN shines in Mainit... BWAHAHAHA

Finally, Sun Cellular Systems, is in Mainit. Globe and Smart... better ensure your rates are at par with Sun, otherwise, there will be domination!!! The Sun Broadband USB is also almost half the price of Globe Vissibility and SmartBRO. This is the dawn of a new beginning (naks!).
