What strikes you most in this picture?
For me, its the desk. Yes, those wooden desks that used to be part of my daily life for six years... during my elementary years in Mainit Central Elementary School (MCES). Oh, I can tell you a thousand and one stories about those desks... my experience of sitting beside my first crush, scrubbing these desks with coconut husks (bunot) during cleaning day, sneaking goodies from seatmates, falling down from broken desks, and a whole lot more.
I wonder if we still have those kind of desks in Mainit.
Note: I think this picture was taken in the 1970s. It must be during Tita Flor's demo teaching in Brgy. Cantugas, on her early years of teaching. Aha, let's plan something to pay tribute to our beloved Ma'ams and Sirs. Forever, I am indebted to them. They built the foundation of where I am now and so it is but proper to give them something in return. Any ideas?
Let me start by naming my elementary advisers:
Grade 1: Mrs. Julia Mondano
Grade 2: Mrs. Esperanza Relliquette +
Grade 3: Mrs. Trinidad Patriana
Grade 4: Mrs. Alice Dejolde +
Grade 5: Mrs. Alma Mosote
Grade 6: Mrs. Nelly Galve
And my elementary teachers:
Mrs. Linda Daytoc - English +
Ms. Concesa Mongado - English +
Mrs. Aida Banzon - Science
Mrs. Adela Behagan - Pilipino
Mrs. Ludem Velarde - Mathematics
Mrs. Borinaga - Science, Music, Arts
Mr. Arturo Mosote - Practical Arts
Mr. Jose Mupas - Practical Arts
Mr. Lino Mozar - Practical Arts +
(Will add more - kalimtan kadali hehehe!)
