These are Wild Rattan Fruits (locally known as Kayape) usually found in the hinterlands of Mainit and brought down to the poblacion by the native Mamanwas (Mainit's surviving indigenous people) in exchange of food or clothing.

This is one of the best fruit I admire most, for its elegant glossy scaly shell, and, for its sour-sweet jelly like fruit. I would not mind eating it every day. Also, if MDO will have a digital calendar, I would love to have Kayape's picture on it.
